Pottery Workshop

A guided workshop to create your very own ceramic pot. You'll have a choice from 3 different ceramic workshops. You will need to contact me to arrange a date before booking, email me silverceramicsuk@gmail.com or enquire via the contact page. 3hrs session All of these workshops are a great introduction to hand-built pottery. You'll learn techniques to make something special and unique. Make 2 scented ceramic candles: We will make 1 slab-built vessel and 1 pinch pot vessel for your scented candle. You can decorate your vessels with coloured slips, carve a pattern, or select a glaze colour. After the session, I will fire and glaze the vase for you. There will be a small selection of glazes to choose from. You will have 2 festive scents to choose from and I will pour the candle for you. I only use premium Soy Wax and scent. These are expensive materials which is reflected in the cost of this workshop. Make a Tea Light House: You will make a tea light house from slabs of clay. You'll have a choice of templates to work from. After the session, I will fire and glaze the vase for you. There will be a small selection of glazes to choose from. Make a candle centrepiece: We will make a slab-built bowl and add holders for standard candle sticks. You can decorate your centrepiece with coloured slips, carve a pattern, or select a glaze colour. After the session, I will fire and glaze the vase for you. There will be a small selection of glazes to choose from. What to bring? We provide aprons, but clay can be messy, so don't wear your favourite outfit. Short nails are best too but not necessary. All tools and materials are provided plus tea, coffee and some biscuits if you're lucky. The workshops are held at Silverceramics' small garden studio in Hitchin. Only 4 people per session which means you'll be able to see all my instructions and I'm on hand to help. These workshops are for all levels.
