NEW WORKSHOP Carve your own unique ceramic plate using the sgraffito technique. Location: Make Space, 3 West Alley, Hitchin, SG5 1EG Duration: 2 Hours - Evening Session Participants: Maximum 6 people per session Workshop Overview: Join us for a hands-on introduction to sgraffito pottery. Sgraffito is a decorative technique that involves scratching through a surface coating to reveal the contrasting clay colour underneath. You'll be provided with a handmade clay plate covered in a black slip ready for you to carve your design. I can provide a design if you're not sure what to carve. After the session, I will bisque fire and then add a transparent glossy glaze for a final firing before it's ready to collect. This workshop is designed for all skill levels, so whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll find the session enjoyable and rewarding. If you have spare time, you can also carve a small trinket plate. What’s Included: - All Tools & Materials: Clay, tools, aprons - Firing & Glazing: After the workshop, your work will be fired and glazed. - Refreshments: Tea, coffee, and biscuits provided. What to Bring: - Clothing: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting messy. We provide aprons, but pottery can be messy work. - Nail Length: Short nails are recommended, but not essential. Location: The workshop takes place in the intimate setting of Make Space in Hitchin Town Centre. With only a small group per session, you'll receive plenty of individual attention and guidance throughout the workshop. Please Note: - Non-Refundable Policy: Classes are non-refundable. However, if you notify us at least two weeks in advance, I will try to fit you into another workshop or reschedule your session to a later date. - Group Sessions: Custom group sessions can be arranged on request.
